2025: A Luminous Evolution
As we approach the end of 2025, it is time to dim the studio lights just a little and reflect on the brilliant year we’ve shared. This year has been about more than just illumination; it’s been about the people and projects that make what we do at ILANEL so rewarding.
Moments of Connection
The year was marked by moments that brought our community together. In May, we enjoyed the vibrant energy of our Melbourne Design Week pop-up shop, connecting with many of you in person. This was followed in July by The Green Design Show, where our prominent exhibit at the entrance welcomed visitors into the world of thoughtful, sustainable design.
A particular highlight of our creative calendar was the solo show, "Now, You'll See" at Goldstone Gallery. This exhibition allowed us to explore the surreal and evocative power of light in a dedicated artistic setting. These gatherings reminded us that the best part of design is seeing how people interact within the spaces we help shape.
The Art of the Bespoke
In 2025, we traded the "off-the-shelf" for the "made-to-measure," turning our studio into a hub of "serious play" where we focused on custom designs tailored to the specific DNA of a project and its people. This year, our Melbourne-made works found new lives in a diverse array of homes, studios, galleries, and public spaces across the globe, serving as active collaborations between dreamers and makers who believe that craft and meaning still matter. Much of this work unfolded behind the scenes, where our "Curiosity Engine" of sketching, testing, and refining turned small discoveries into the foundation for our future practice. We remain guided by the philosophy that touch leads exploration and that beauty is an absolute necessity—though, for every pristine piece that leaves our atelier, there is a mountain of sketches and a few "heroic failures" that taught us exactly what not to do.

Thank you for being part of our year—for sharing, visiting, collaborating, and supporting. We step forward with gratitude for what we’ve built and excitement for the ideas taking shape now that will guide the work coming to light in the year ahead.
